Scaffold explores the shifting dynamics between a lesbian couple as the terminal illness of one partner’s mother coincides with the breakdown of their relationship. The boundaries between the maternal and the sexual, the real and the fantastical begin to blur, exposing the complex ways human relationships intertwine both with one another and the surrounding environment.
