HYPERACUSIS PART 1
Sophie Hoyle
Hyperacusis (Part 1) is a short film that explores the use of nature metaphors in political narratives about the body and social groups, through experiments taking place at UrsuLAB, a biohacking lab based at Antre Peaux. Though communities continue to be sociopolitically marginalised and oppressed, we can also begin to form alternative networks of care and support.
Hyperacusis (2021) is a two-channel film installation exploring mental health and trauma, access to healthcare, transcultural psychiatry, and the intergenerational impacts of racism, colonialism and other socioeconomic inequalities.
UrsuLAB was founded by Kina Madno (Quimera Rosa collective). Made as part of an EMAP/EMARE residency at Antre Peaux, Bourges.
